Mother Africa is the well–spring of civilization, a land that in its very nature cradles and holds us. As we step onto this continent, something begins to shift as our legs sink into the earth and our bodies somehow feel more deeply rooted to terra firma. The thrill of starting your morning at sunrise spotting your first giraffe ambling through the bush as the sky turns from pink to golden is nothing short of breathtaking. The privilege of watching impalas, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, lions, hippos, baboons, and leopards in their natural environment will connect you to the web of life, your divine union with all of creation.

We will experience South Africa's extraordinary game parks including the world renowned Kruger National Park, the white lion breeding center at Mokwala and the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Project. Besides visiting game, we will connect with the sacred wisdom of the ancient shamanic traditions and visit some historic and awe-inspiring sites like God's Window, the Three Rondovals, the Giant Footprint and Healing Stone.

Our tour will take us south to Cape Town and the Western Cape region. Here we will enjoy the cosmopolitan flavor of Cape Town, including Table Mountain and the world famous botanical reserve, Kirstenbosch Gardens.

Presence of Heart sees its tour as an opportunity for personal transformation and healing for this part of the world. South Africa is a newly reconstituted country full of optimism and challenges. Its 1994 elections were inspired and held in divine grace as Nelson Mandela became its President in open and free elections. Having one of the most democratic constitutions in the world, South Africa has set its course for true freedom.

First introduced to South Africa by Leslie Temple Thurston and the Corelight community in the United States, Presence of Heart hopes to make a positive difference in this country by supporting Corelight's ongoing Seeds of Light AIDS projects. You will have the opportunity of visiting one of these projects on the tour.

We see travel as a way of bringing cultures and people together that enable all of us to create a more loving and harmonious world. As each of us gains greater understanding of ourselves, the world we live in, and our place in it, we can become a creative part of planetary transformation for future generations to enjoy.
